Memes part I- 2019 general election edition

The word ‘meme’ is not an invention of the Internet Age as it was first introduced already in 1976 by a British scientist, Richard Dawkins, in relation to the theory of the evolutionary principles, which can be observed in the changes taking place in the cultural phenomena and the spreading of an idea. For instance, the graffiti drawing with subscription ‘Kilroy was here’ seen since 1940 in places where the allies fought during World War II, which with time became popular in the entire Western culture, can be considered a pre-Internet meme.
Nevertheless, the true time for memes came when the Internet started to grow in popularity. This period lasts to the present day and simple photos with a few sentences often reflect emotions in a much better way than the longest and best articles written by geniuses of journalism. Today, memes change the world, help politicians win elections, change people’s approach to the most important cultural social and political issues. Today, memes are also an important trend in comedy and one of the forms of a political commentary.
In my Memes articles, I will try to present the best memes, which in some way also refer to residents of Shirebrook.
