Cllr Steve Fritchley – Zero Votes, Zero Effort

After checking the attendance of STC councillors in 2024, I noticed something strange – one of the most experienced councillors forgot that he is a councillor. Steve Fritchley got into STC with zero votes – no one challenged his constituency, so he got the seat scot-free. Out of 23 meetings in 2024, he attended only 8!!! I think he took that to heart, and now he shows up only when he’s about to lose his seat due to the “6 months non-attendance” rule.

Between July 2024 and now, he attended STC meetings ONLY ONCE! Great job, Steve! Really showing residents how much you care.

CLLR SARAH BROOKS, CLLR VICKI KIRBY – WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING THERE?
Honestly, I expected Steve Fritchley to do what he did in previous years – show up once every five months to stay within limits and keep his seat.
He is power-hungry, corrupted by power, an old politician, so I expected him to keep an eye on his attendance. To be honest – I didn’t expect STC to meet on Monday at 10 AM just to extend Steve Fritchley’s laziness into another six-month period, but that’s exactly what they did. They met on Monday, December 16, so Steve can do nothing for the next six months.

WHY I KEEP AN EYE ON ATTENDANCE?
I was actually aiming at another councillor whose lack of involvement borders on insulting voters.
I was convinced Sarah Brooks would be the councillor to exceed the infamous 6-month absence limit, given her lowest attendance rate in 2023 and even lower in 2024. She came to STC meetings only 4 times out of 23 meetings, giving her 17% attendance. I remind you that as a councillor, I had 100% attendance throughout my whole term (minus one meeting that the Town Clerk decided not to invite me to).

While preparing the tables, I also noticed another councillor with a brazenly low rate – Vicki Kirby. Cllr Kirby also attended just 4 out of 23 meetings. Of course, all carefully selected to reset the 6-month absence period. Is this the work that Labour voters support? Is it the Labour Party or the Lazy Party?

Of course – Labour’s grasp on town is calculated, sordid, and selfish. They show up exactly when they need to extend their six-month period of absence. It’s just a brazen, insulting approach to their duties.

INSULT TO VOTERS
Sarah! Vicky! 17%? Really? Just resign and stop pretending you’re bringing any benefit to the town by occupying seats in STC.
Resign with honour before you become the town’s laughingstock. Resign today so we can have a by-election. Sadly, I know you won’t do that – you are Labour through and through. Labour prefers to cancel elections rather than allow people to have a voice.

As a matter of journalistic duty, I decided to ask these councillors for an explanation. I will publish their response (if I receive any). Don’t hold your breath—all Labour politicians are scared of me. Even our MP ghosted me. After initially agreeing to conduct an interview, she and her staff completely ignore my attempts to contact them.

I’m just a working-class bloke- they hate me and everything I stand for. They are better than me, so why would they mix with Gammon like me, right?

IT’S NOT OFFICIAL, BUT STILL – IT’S AN INSULT.
Steve Fritchley’s chronic absenteeism is just another piece of evidence showing how Labour takes this town for granted.
After countless scandals, his abysmal attendance at STC, and his recall from the BDC leadership role, Steve Fritchley is more a laughingstock, a clown, and a political loser than a game-maker.

I hope we will meet him to ask why he ignores his duties. Be a man, Steve—resign and allow a new generation of leaders to take charge. Your legacy is the highest taxes, corruption scandals, and nepotism. Enough, please! This town cannot take two more years of Labour laziness and do-nothingness.

There is a saying: “You don’t judge a man by how he started. In my opinion, Steve Fritchley is ending his career badly—very badly.

A PATTERN OF LAZINESS
Steve Fritchley’s behaviour follows a pattern – in 2023
, he barely maintained his seat by making minimal appearances.

When will this town wake up? Will it wake up at all? Just to close it up on Labour’s “care” about you – STC just voted to raise your taxes by 4.94%. Tenth pay rise in eleven years! Good luck paying those tax bills, folks! For Fritchley!
