Council tax bill explained
At this point, everybody in town should receive their council tax bill. Majority of people just glance it over and toss it to the trash. Some of us study it closely- especially those like me who “run tight ship”. For us “every penny counts” so 10% tax increase is kinda… painful.
Labour love to moan about austerity but they have no problem to increase taxes on the working class and pump money into pockets of bureaucrats, bankers, politicians and those who live off taxpayer money and don’t contribute to society improvement. They have a problem with austerity in government structures but they have no problem putting your home under tax burden and force on you “home austerity”.
You may ask- how I came to that conclusion? Well- I just find out that Bolsover Council councillors are highest paid councillors in the UK! Yes! They pay themselves more than ANY NON-METROPOLITAN COUNCIL IN THE UK!!! There was Conservative councillor (David Dixon from Clowne) who tried to lower councillor diets but votes of Labour councillors blocked that motion. Labour- always thinking about their own pockets, right? I will write a separate article about that…
Meanwhile, I would like you to look again at picture above. Conservative-led County Council freeze tax at last year level. Bolsover increased tax- as usual. But Shirebrook- went full ahead. Since Shirebrook residents love Labour so much- our councillors decided to check how much we can bear. They plunged the town into debt and when they noticed that town is still running out of money- they increased tax almost FIVE TIMES above the inflation rate… On top of that they seeking another HUGE loan with HUGE yearly repayment (every year; year after year; for 50 years…). The only way to balance the books will be to increase taxes. And a 10% tax increase won’t cut. They will have to squeeze from us even more next years…
Did you vote Labour last local election? How do you feel about that? Are you proud? Are you happy to pay more for less? Are you ready to pay even more next year? Mark my words- this is just the beginning of huge tax rises in Shirebrook. Shirebrook Town Council is running out of cash and Labour-economics dictates: when bankers take all your income- increase taxes on those who can’t fight against it (working class).
