Jennifer Jeffery broke the law again!
Jennifer Jeffery, Town Clerk of STC, once again broke the law. She completely ignored a properly sent FOI Act request. I sent it on 3 July, and I know it arrived in STC’s inbox because I called STC a day later to confirm that my letter had arrived.
Receipt of the letter was confirmed by the Town Clerk’s brother, who is also a Town Hall employee-all in the family, right? So today, I called again to ask Town Clerk what the reason was for not meeting the statutory 21-day deadline for a response. I did not receive a reply- allegedly Town Clerk was “in a meeting”. Person who picked up my phone promised to pass the message. Greeeaaat!
Am I asking for something complicated in my FOI? No. I asked for copies of the cash-book sheets and a copy of the letter notifying STC of the industrial action planned by the Unite union. I wonder if the reason for this action is the scandal that Labour Party and STC are busily trying to sweep under the carpet.
So I will wait for some more time, and then, I guess I will have no choice but to notify Information Commissioner Office. STC have three workers in Town Hall earning between 50k and 30k each, and there is no one to copy/paste information already distributed between councillors. Yeah- that’s check out. The truth is as follows- Labour “politicians” know something, and they don’t know you to know what they know: that’s why STC Civil Servants, together with Labour stalling. Couldn’t sister tell brother to send this e-mail? They work in the same office FFS! How hard can it be? After all, it’s normal to have two members of the same family hired in 3 people department of local government, right? It’s for efficiency! For taxpayer’s good, right? Not nepotism at all!
The whole “family” (Jeffries plus Labour) are trying to hide something they are ashamed of– and I am not talking about the ongoing BDC investigation into a breach of the Code of Conduct by Chris Kane. That investigation has been ongoing since October last year. It must be significant, right? Or is BDC just trying to sweep it under the carpet to benefit their beloved Labour Party?
