2025 – YEAR OF HOPE!
“FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!” is a now-famous quote from a guy who sacrificed his peace, wealth, health, and nearly his life in political conflict against the violence of the leftists (oh, from where do we know that?). This “FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!” moment became a turning point in recent political history, and while it serves as a reminder of political violence, many also see it as a symbol of renewal.
To start this year’s publishing cycle with something new, I’m presenting an article I wrote by myself and then edited using Claude AI, which helped me correct grammar, tense, flow, and punctuation issues. While Claude significantly streamlined my usual writing style (somewhat like a butcher with a knife!), the article feels more concise. Apart from one new picture, there is no new information or data – it’s just a summary and call to arms for 2025. I created this article as an experiment to see if I could accelerate my writing process for S247.

SHIREBROOK – THE TOWN I FELL IN LOVE WITH FOR ALL THE WRONG REASONS
I see a defeated town full of defeated people. Mike Ashley saved you, but you allowed politicians to squander that opportunity. Too many here chose a comfortable life on their knees instead of standing up for tomorrow. Have you had enough of taking a knee?
I prefer to stand and fight than live comfortably on my knees. That’s why I’m one of the few still fighting for our town’s tomorrow. My life is good – I have almost everything I dreamed of at 20, yet- I risk it all to fight for democracy, transparency and freedom of speech.
SHIREBROOK IS EXPLOITED
Looking around, I see people accepting exploitation and the highest taxes in the country. People who agreed this town will always be poor, desolate, badly educated, and crime-ridden. Some still pretend there was no “Pellet Scandal,” no “Solar Panel Scandal,” no “Tree Felling Scandal,” no “Market Refurbishment Scandal,” or no “Hiring Friends and Family Scandal.” They’ve lost their minds, but what is more scary: they lost their souls…
THE TIDE IS TURNING
At the last STC meeting, I saw hope. Never have I seen so many people attend.
My work as a blogger/journalist is waking minds, setting them on fire. I failed to do that as a councillor, but now I see the tide is turning. More people are coming to meetings. More people are talking about corruption, incompetence, nepotism, borderline criminal activities of some councillors, and the destruction of evidence by the Town Clerk and other Civil Servants to cover Labour Party scandals.
Labour Party that sees its mandate as a ticket to corruption and self-interest. It had 40 years to make this town great again. Tell me—honestly—what it did other than hiring its friends and family in STC, pumping taxpayer money into private companies, “The Post,” and several scandals.
THE BRITISH LEGACY
Your grandfathers fought against tyranny and won. Today’s chains are different – they bind minds rather than bodies. This great nation now resembles a tired old man clinging to power, refusing to pass the torch to younger, hungrier generations. RETIRE OLD MAN! YOU ARE 90,80 YEARS OLD! You f it up- admit it! Or at least retire with dignity!
SHIREBROOK – DEMOCRACY IN PERIL
Currently, Labour holds 100% of STC seats – a straight sin. Democracy here is dead, but we can revive it. I predict at least one “special election” in 2025. Don’t let Labour take another seat – they already have 16, with zero opposition. This isn’t democracy; it’s North Korea!
THE CORRUPTION
We pay the UK’s highest taxes for what? A council leader who breaches the code of conduct, a Town Clerk who hired her own brother (with a recent 27% pay rise), refused FOI requests and published corrupted data. Repeatedly. How deep does this go? We won’t know until we remove Labour and bring in real auditors.
HOPE FOR 2025
I could share more data to depress you, but instead, I want to inspire. As a descendant of survivors of German death camps, Russian prisons, and martial law, I tell you – fight until your last breath!
I promise to work overtime making Shirebrook great again. I’m a blue-collar worker with journalism experience who loves this town. With my house paid off, I have plenty of time for real journalism. 2025 is already dabbed as “year of renewal” – and that’s bad news for those on the wrong side of history.
