Labour Party takes 100% of seats at STC

This time Shirebrook South was not the worst constituency regarding participation
in elections. We were second to last.

27% pay rise for STC workers, 15% tax increase for residents, scandal after scandal, and yet- Labour wins effortlessly. Why? Because literally nobody but Labour voters bothered to go to the polling station.

Only twenty out of every hundred residents voted and fifteen of those people voted Labour. I can criticise Labour all I like, but the fact remains that the people have brought about this fate for themselves. Get ready for tax rises, unemployment, a “green revolution”, and the prosecution of those who say there are two genders. These election results indicate that Labour will win the next general election and take over the country. If you think Tony Blair has left a mess behind, wait until “woke” SIR Kier finishes his job. However, I’m not going to dwell on national politics. I will focus on Shirebrook.

THERE IS THE DOOR! SHUT IT FROM OUTSIDE!
Unfortunately, I lost my STC seat. I gained slightly more votes than in my first election in 2019, but it was not enough.
Two years of hard work resulted in virtually no change in residents’ voting activity. Well- life. Once you lose, once you win. The only upside to this situation is that I can now openly write about everything I want to. Im journalist now. Blogger. Nothing less, nothing more. I will use my free speech to full extent.

PERIOD OF REFLECTION
There is nothing to discuss here.
Someone who works full-time has no chance of being as politically active as the pensioners running STC. My activity on the blog is not enough – to win, I would have to be more active “on the street” – and I don’t and won’t have time for that. I read somewhere that the average age of a councillor in the UK is 60. The average age of the STC councillor is much higher. This has implications.

BE CAREFUL
Someone wise once told me to have documentary confirmation for everything I write about.
This has always been the case. From now on, it will be extremely difficult because the Town Clerk did not release documents to me even when I was a councillor. So I wrote an FOI despite the fact that, as a councillor, I should have unrestricted access to all documents.

The Town Clerk’s alliance with the Labour Party is so intimate that Labour had no problem cancelling as many as three STC meetings in 2023. Nor did Labour have a problem with the glaring mathematical errors in ALL reports produced by someone who earns close to £50,000 a year from our taxes. This is something I can finally write freely about, so even though STC cancelled the meeting where we were supposed to discuss all the “sins” of the Town Clerk- I can now do so freely.

I will write again: Jennifer Jeffries should be sacked. Over the past two years, she has hidden documents from councillors, signed documents “on behalf of STC” without informing STC, made glaring mathematical errors in reports, withheld information from councillors e.g. about STC’s contacts with the MP’s office, and ultimately she was, is and will be a key figure in the scandal that STC continues to hide from residents. The effects of this scandal can probably already be seen in the “cash-book”, and I suspect this was the reason why for almost 6 months, STC only met once.

A NEW SCANDAL IS LIKE NOTHING BEFORE
However, Jennifer Jeffries and her Labour Party allies will be unable
to hide this ‘new’ scandal. The lawyers will already take care of that – they have already sunk their vampire teeth into this case. I will just be watching from the sidelines and, of course, writing about it. I won’t be giving away any secrets if I say outright that this scandal can potentially expose the town budget to financial losses of up to five zeros after the first number. I also have several documents that cannot be kept confidential as I received them from a source other than the STC.

It will also publish a summary of the pellets investigation-you can be sure, however, that this matter will be swept under the carpet. I suspect that in this scandal and the scandal that Labour is still covering up, no one will suffer the consequences. Nobody except the taxpayer, of course. Unfortunately- it is clear from the election results that the taxpayers don’t give a damn about the state of the town. So it’s all back to normal in Shirebrook: year after year of tax increases, mismanagement, and lack of transparency.

From now on I will have to write FOI Act requests to find out anything. I’ll start after the next Annual Town Meeting- STC has tried very hard to make sure I don’t have access to the cash-books for this year, so I need to review them. I suspect there is something in there that Labour is trying to hide from residents.

As I have written before- as long as I live in Shirebrook, I will publish STC material. I’ll have less of it now, but I’m sure I’ll always be able to dig up something interesting. I will, however, concentrate on writing for myself- due to my duties as a councillor, I have had less time for this in the last two years.

THANK YOU
Thank you to the residents who voted for me. We tried. We lost. Life goes on.
