!!!STC councillors attendance in 2020

Nightmare of 2020 is far behind us. The latest news about dropping infections rates across the whole of the UK give all of us much needed hope and relief. However, I decided to go back to 2020 to summarize the activity of our town councillors- just to remind you how horrible 2020 was and how Labour Party STC councillors worked in that wretched year.

Usually, I would use any opportunity to criticize and point out the laziness of the Labour Party establishment but… come on- it was 2020. I don’t know anyone who went through that year cheerful and full of joy and energy. So this post is just for information purpose. I write it out of pure, chronicling duty. I leave you to draw your own conclusions.

As you can see in the picture above- attendance of our “chosen ones” fell out of the cliff. Same with the number of meetings. In 2019 STC had 10 meetings in just 8 months. In the whole 12 months of 2020, there were just 6 meetings. Somehow all committee issues can be discussed and solved in full meetings- just like in any other council, just like I suggested months ago…

We “lost” two Labour Party councillors– they breached S85 of the Local Government Act 1972, they had to go. S247 is glad that we could help them in this painful proccess. If you want to know more about it, you need to read this article:

Last comment to the illustrating picture: attendance colours and percentages are entirely subjective and based on my own opinion. There are no attendance requirements for councillors at meetings (apart from those mentioned in S85) but I feel that someone who shows up at less than 50% of meetings- should rethink whether he really wants to be a councillor…
